Be sure to use the ZOOM feature on this piece to see the depth and beauty of the surface. I made several of these for the last firing and this one is the best, just magnificent! So much going on in the glazes that it's hard to know where to start describing it.

This piece has been throw and altered. It was then glazed very thickly with a very simple shino glaze composed mostly of feldspar. It was wood-fired to a very hot temperature, where it reacted to the ash and atmospheric changes. The result is a stunning surface reminiscent of strange geological formations. A real shino collector's piece!

It measures 7"t x 5"w and is watertight.

Please be aware that this work is fired in a wood kiln and do to the nature of the process will have small imperfections, rough areas or other characteristics which are different from what you might expect from store bought ceramics. It's part of the beauty. I recommend taking special care of these works by hand washing and treating them with attention and respect.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask and thanks for checking out my work!!
