Incense Censer, wood-fired stoneware w/ celadon and natural ash glazes

Here's a lovely three footed censer meant to be used as an incense burning vessel. It can be used with stick incense by partially filling with sand, salt or ash to hold up the sticks, or filled with the rice hull ash for using charcoal and fine loose incense, woods and burnables.

The design is based forms often seen cast in bronze. The tripod foot will protect the surface it's resting on from getting too hot.

The celadon glaze has nice subtle variations where it has interacted with the ash in the wood-firing.

This piece measures approx 2.5"t x 3.5"w

Please be aware that this work is fired in a wood kiln and do to the nature of the process will have small imperfections, rough areas or other characteristics which are different from what you might expect from store bought ceramics. It's part of the beauty. I recommend taking special care of these works by hand washing and treating them with attention and respect.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask and thanks for checking out my work!!
